Toronto Christmas Market

After ten long years my husband and I made it to the Toronto Christmas Market in the Distillery District. It was a sight for sore eyes: old buildings, hot apple cider, lights everywhere...and that tree! It was a fun and spirit-soaring four hours that we spent shopping and eating with friends. Here are some highlights, things we saw and ate! There were lots of great stalls of local goods to purchase but I didn't take photos to deter items from being copied. Also, we couldn't take photos inside the larger stores.

The lights everywhere took my breath away. so did the crowds.

The BEST solo chocolate fondue and mulled apple cider came from Lil Arvo.

My first experience eating Raclette. This was over cheese and potato perogies, with pickles. It was delicious!

The inside of Balzac's is beautiful and cozy.

Say yes to truffle poutine, with fries made fresh every 6 minutes.

THAT TREE

For the grand finale of our eating tour, smores in a jar from Holey Dough Donuts

The Christmas Market is open from mid November to the last weekend of December before Christmas. It requires a ticket to enter from Friday evening through Sunday but if free on weekdays. Give it a try next year, maybe we'll see you there!
