With quarantine still in full effect we've been trying new recipes and bringing back old favourites because now we're making 824 meals per week. This one is a classic quick meal for us and it's so easy to put together or customize.

Ingredients:
1 medium yellow or white onion, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
1 sirloin tip steak (1/2 kg), sliced thinly
6 panini buns (or good hot dog buns)
100 g provolone cheese
Cheese Wiz
Garlic powder
Seasoning salt
Black pepper
Directions
Marinate steak in seasoning salt, black pepper and garlic to taste. Saute sliced onion and bell pepper in a cast iron skillet in a tablespoon of oil, over medium high heat until tender and translucent (aprox 5-8 mins). Stir constantly to avoid burning. Remove from skillet and add another tbs of oil to warm. Toss in the steak and let sear 2 mins on one side, then begin stirring. When cooked through, re-add the peppers and onions and stir to incorporate.
Spread veg/meat over panini buns on a baking tray. top with provolone cheese and cheese wiz (optional). Broil at 550 degrees F for 3-5 mins with the bun open to toast. Remove from oven and top with hot sauce (again, optional) and eat HOT,
Enjoy!

The simplicity of this cheesesteak recipe is appealing, especially during times when quick meals are essential. The combination of marinated steak with sautéed vegetables can be easily customized, making it a versatile option for many. It's interesting how comfort food can adapt to our changing routines. On a different note, capturing memories with pets is also a comforting activity; I often think about transforming my favorite pet photos into art. You can explore ideas at PetPortraitHub.
