Beef & Broccoli


There are few things as fast as my beef & broccoli recipe. It takes 10 minutes to prep and less than 15 minutes to cook. If I can have a full meal on the table in less than 30 minutes then it's going to be on our family rotation at least once a month.

Ingredients:

1 pound thinly sliced beef

1 pound broccoli heads

1/2 red pepper, chopped in large pieces

1 onion, chopped in large pieces

1 tbs oil

1 tsp corn starch

1/2 tsp sugar

1/2 tsp salt

3 tbs soy sauce

1 tbs hoisin

1 tbs garlic powder

1 tbs onion powder

pinch of red pepper flakes

1/2 tsp black pepper

Directions:

Begin by heating your oil over medium-high heat. I would do it in a wok or large frying pan. In the mean time, mix all of your dry seasonings together. Begin cooking by searing the beef on one side. When you flip it, add the onions.

Cook until there is no more pink left on the beef. Add the broccoli, garlic and peppers, saute 1-2 mins.

Add your seasoning mix and 1 cup of water. Add your soy sauce and hoisin.Keep the sauce moving for a minute then cover and let it steam for 2-3 minutes; this will soften the veggies and thicken the sauce. Remove from heat and serve warm over rice.
