My daughters have inherited my love of cooking and baking. It makes my heart full of joy! We made these snickerdoodle cookies twice now and they turned out perfectly! They're so easy that I lay out all of the ingredients (mise en place) and my oldest can make them on her own. I know we're making them again for Santa next week. Give the recipe a try with your little one and let me know how it goes!

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

Cream together ½ cup butter, 1 1/2 cups white sugar, 2 eggs and 2 tsp vanilla. Blend in 2 ¾ cups flour, 2 tsp cream of tartar, 1 tsp baking soda and ¼ tsp salt. Add in ½ cup vegetable oil and 2 tbs cinnamon.

Shape dough into balls (1 tbs size).

Mix ½ cup sugar and 1 tbs cinnamon in a separate bowl. Roll balls of dough in mixture.

Place 2 inches apart on baking sheet. Sprinkle with a little sugar overtop and lightly pat down the cookie (they spring up in the oven).

Bake 8 to 10 minutes, or until set but not too hard (I baked mine 9 mins exactly). Remove immediately from baking sheets to cool.

Happy baking! I hope Santa loves them!
